How to update your home care marketing cap

Last updated: April 14, 2026

Overview

Your marketing cap is a monthly budget limit that controls your marketing spend with Lottie. When your cap is reached, your listings are de-ranked in Lottie's search algorithm, meaning they appear lower in search results. This can result in missed enquiries, placements, and revenue.

What you can do:

  • Monitor your cap usage daily

  • Increase your cap at any time to maintain visibility

  • Remove your cap entirely to become uncapped

  • View forecasted impact of missed enquiries and placements

This guide explains how to adjust your marketing cap settings in Found.

How to update your marketing cap

  1. Log in to Found

  2. Go to the Marketing tab

Option 2: Remove your cap entirely

  1. Check the "Remove monthly cap" checkbox

  2. This makes you uncapped so your listings stay visible at all times

Please note: You cannot set a home care cap lower than or equal to your current cap. You can only increase or remove it.

Step 6: Confirm your changes

Your changes take effect immediately and your cap usage will update daily.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What happens when I reach my marketing cap?

A: Your marketing cap puts your listings at risk of Lottie's search de-ranking algorithm, so they may appear lower in search results. This means you could lose out on enquiries, placements, and revenue each month.

Q: Can I decrease my marketing cap after increasing it?

A: No. For home care brands, you cannot set a new cap that is less than or equal to your current cap. You can only increase your cap or remove it entirely.

Q: What happens if I go uncapped?

A: When you switch to uncapped, the marketing cap performance page will be removed. This page is only available to capped partners, and once you're uncapped you won't need it anymore.

Q: How often does my cap usage update?

A: Your marketing cap usage updates daily. You can view your current spend and usage percentage at any time on the marketing cap page.

Q: What is the conversion rate used to calculate estimated lost placements?

A: The estimated lost placements are calculated using Lottie's average enquiry to placement conversion rate, which is shown on the marketing cap page.

Q: Can I increase my cap multiple times in the same month?

A: Yes, you can increase your marketing cap as many times as you need. Each increase takes effect immediately.

Q: How do I know if increasing my cap is worthwhile?

A: Review the metrics on your marketing cap page, particularly:

  • Estimated lost enquiries: Shows potential enquiries you're missing

  • Estimated lost placements: Shows potential placement opportunities

  • Estimated lost revenue: Shows the financial impact

A marketing cap protects you from unexpected costs, but it can mean you lose out on enquiries, placements, and revenue. Increasing or removing your marketing cap helps you receive more enquiries, placements, and revenue via Lottie.
