Understanding your Lottie marketing cap

Last updated: April 14, 2026

What is a marketing (monthly) cap?

Your marketing cap is a monthly budget limit that controls how much you spend on marketing with Lottie. Understanding how it works helps you stay visible in search results and avoid missing out on enquiries and placements.

What happens when you reach your cap?

When your monthly cap is reached, your listings are de-ranked in Lottie's search algorithm and shortlist flow. This means they appear lower in search results, which can result in missed enquiries, placements, and revenue for the remainder of that month.

What does uncapped mean?

Removing your monthly cap entirely makes you uncapped. This means:

  • No monthly budget limit

  • Your listings stay visible in search at all times

  • You capture every relevant enquiry without interruption

  • Your listings are never affected by de-ranking

💡 Need to pause enquiries temporarily? Even without a cap, you can stop receiving enquiries at any time by toggling your availability off in the Locations tab in Found. Care Home location availability will be reset at the beginning of every month.

âš  Please note: Once you go uncapped, the marketing cap performance page will no longer be available. This page is only accessible to capped partners.

Frequently asked questions?

Q: What happens when I reach my marketing cap? A: Your listings are at risk of being de-ranked in Lottie's search algorithm, meaning they may appear lower in search results. This can result in missed enquiries, placements, and revenue for the rest of that month.

Q: How do I know if increasing my cap is worthwhile? A: Review the metrics on your marketing cap page in Found, particularly estimated lost enquiries, estimated lost placements, and estimated lost revenue. These show the potential impact of your current cap on your business.

Q: Can I decrease my marketing cap? A: No. You can only increase your cap or remove it entirely via Found.

Q: What is the difference between being capped and uncapped? A: A capped partner has a monthly budget limit in place. When that limit is reached, listings may be de-ranked. An uncapped partner has no limit and maintains full visibility in search at all times.
